August & September 2018 Book Haul

Aug/Sept 2018 Book Haul

You’ll notice I haven’t had a book haul in the past few months; that’s because I went on a bit of a book buying ban to try and make sure I read some of the books I already own (hahaha will we ever be able to not buy books?)

War StormVictoria Aveyard
Okay so I actually bought this book when it came out in May and boy was it a huge disappointment. It was so boring, drawn out, and so anti-climactic for the concluding book in a series. It actually pushed me into a several month long book slump. Ugh.

A Reaper at the Gates – Sabaa Tahir
The Ember series is one of my favourites! I bought the North American edition during my trip back home to Canada and it is gorgeous. Read my review of Book One and Book Two.

Doomsday BookConnie Willis
This is one my all time favourite books and possibly the best time travel book out there. I found a first edition copy at a charity shop for only £3! What a steal!

These Rebel WavesSara Raasch
Harper360 was kind enough to send over an ARC. I’m always up for a new fantasy series with politics and magic!

The Extinction Trials: ExileSM Wilson
Dinosaurs! The Extinction Trials was such an adrenaline rush, I expect the second book to be just as thrilling.

Welcome to Night ValeJeffrey Cranor & Joseph Fink
Okay so this is actually one my husband purchased but he tends to have good taste so I included it in my haul!

  1. I’ve imposed another book buying ban on myself after caving and buying both Six Of Crows and Crooked Kingdom last month (and finishing them in a couple of weeks) but ahh, I am so tempted by these books! And the pretty picture!

    1. Six of Crows is amazing book worthy of a ban break so I really don’t think you did anything wrong 😛
