Reading Roundup April/May 2017

April May Reading Roundup

I have been cursed with a several month long reading slump, but I appear to be clawing my way out of it!

4.5/5 – Redshirts – John Scalzi
I went into Redshirts expecting a Star Trek parody. I did not expect how meta it was and how many time it broke the fourth wall. So good!

4/5 – The Upside of Unrequited – Becky Albertalli
The cutest book to ever cute! It was a fantastic coming of age story about learning to accept yourself. Filled with diverse characters, sisterhood, and concerns people go through every day, it was a terrific portrayal of real life. Read my review!

4/5 – The Other Us – Fiona Harper
My weakness is stories that mess with time! The Other Us follows Maggie’s life as she’s thrust between two splintered timelines. Read my review!
(Book Depository / Amazon Canada / Amazon UK)

4/5 – Flame in the Mist – Renee Ahdieh
One of 2017’s most anticipated reads! Set in feudal Japan and with a gorgeous writing style, I can’t wait to read the sequel. Review to come soon!
