Reading Roundup – August 2016

August 2016 Reading Roundup

Just three books this month. But three pretty solid books!

The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet – Becky Chambers
5/5 Characterization. This is how you do it.  This book was SO well written. It felt so real. Don’t go in expecting space battles and an epic space opera. Go in expecting superb characters (many of which are aliens) against the backdrop of space. Loved it.
(Book Depository Amazon US / Amazon CA / Amazon UK)

Stealing Snow – Danielle Paige
3.25/5 I have a soft spot for fairy tale retellings, but this one fell short in some places.  It was good, just not as good as I had hoped.
(Book Depository / Amazon US / Amazon CA / Amazon UK)

The Deviants – CJ Skuse
4/5 A really good messed up thriller!  I read this in one sitting without realising.
