Reading Roundup – July 2016

Reading Roundup July 2016

Only three books this month.  But, I’m almost at my yearly goal of 40 books!

Beauty Queens – Libba Bray
4/5 – An airplane carrying a group of beauty queens crashes on a remote island on their way to a pageant.  It was a lot funnier than I expected and the characters were well written.  Also, such a girl power book!
(Book DepositoryAmazon US / Amazon CA)

Shadow and Bone – Leigh Bardugo
3/5 – I wanted to read the Grisha trilogy before getting into Six of Crows, but this was pretty underwhelming. I don’t know how the rest of the books play out, but based on the first book I feel that this series would have been better served as a duology rather than a trilogy. I’ll carry on with the series, but I don’t have high expectations.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child – JK Rowling, John Tiffany, Jack Thorne
5/5 – Amazing, spectacular, go read it.  Read my review here.
