December 2017 Book Haul

December 2017 Book Haul

2017 was a year filled with great book purchases. I’ve been trying not to impulse buy too many books so my hauls each month are a lot smaller. But it’s been working well – I’m only buying books I’m excited about and genuinely want to read as soon as possible. This means fewer £1 impulse book purchases from charity shops (also helps that I recently moved to a small town with no book store and only three charity shops that lack in the book department).

Paris Adrift – EJ Swift
Time travel. Moulin Rouge. I’m sold. The amazing people at Rebellion Publishing sent over an advance copy for their blog tour. Look out for my review in early February!
(Book Depository / Amazon US / Amazon Canada / Amazon UK)

Otherworld – Jason Segel & Kirsten Miller
Otherworld sounds kinda similar to Ready Player One and Warcross, but hopefully it’s exciting enough that it’ll be able to measure up!
(Book Depository / Amazon US / Amazon Canada / Amazon UK)

The Extinction Trials – SM Wilson
Jurassic Park meets The Hunger Games. JURASSIC PARK MEETS THE HUNGER GAMES. I ended up reading this right after buying it and it was so addictive. Intense. Thrilling. Scary. Plus there were dinosaurs.
(Book Depository / Amazon UK)

Star Trek Prometheus: Fire With Fire – Christian Humberg & Bernd Perplies
Titan Books were amazing and sent over a copy. I’ve been reading Star Trek books since I was 9 years old, so I couldn’t pass up this opportunity. Originally written in German, it’s a brand new cast of characters aboard the USS Prometheus. Look out for my review soon!
(Book Depository / Amazon US / Amazon Canada / Amazon UK)

Star Trek Discovery: Desperate Hours – David Mack
(Not pictured) I’ve been meaning to buy this since the first episode of Discovery aired and found a copy on sale while in London. New Star Trek show = new Star Trek books!
(Book Depository / Amazon US / Amazon Canada / Amazon UK)

I hope your 2018 is filled with amazing books!

  1. I’d only heard of Otherworld recently but seen some amazing reviews for it. It’s one I definitely want to check out sometime soon given the video game theme so hopefully it’s good! I hadn’t heard of the other books on your haul but I’ll check them out. 🙂
