Top Four Books Published in 2017

Of all the books released in 2017, these were the standouts!  Of course, there are a ton of books released in 2017 that I unfortunately didn’t get around to reading yet. The four below are picked from the new releases I did manage to cram into my reading time.

The Loneliest Girl in the Universe
by Lauren James

Honestly, I cannot stop gushing about this book. Even if you don’t like sci-fi there’s a good chance you’ll love Loneliest Girl. It’s got a wonderful main character, suspense, thrills, and perfect for an afternoon binge read.

Traitor to the Throne
by Alwyn Hamilton

Released back at the beginning of the year, I still think about Traitor to the Throne still nearly a year later. It’s a stellar sequel to a fantastic debut. I loved catching up with Amani, and I’m counting down the days I can get my hands on Hero at the Fall, the third and final book. See my full review.

Invictus
by Ryan Graudin

I. Love. Time. Travel.

Invictus was one of my most anticipated reads of the year and I am SO relieved it didn’t disappoint. I had so much fun hopping through time with Far and his crew!

Artemis
by Andy Weir

You had me at “a heist on the moon.” No, Artemis wasn’t as good as The Martian, but I still had a whole lot of fun running around the Moon with Jazz. Looking forward to what Weir comes up with next!

I’d love to know what your Top 4 2017 Books are!

  1. Both Invictus and Artemis are high up on my tbr! I’m currently reading Blood for Blood by Ryan Graudin and it’s so good, I can’t wait to pick up Invictus! I also loved The Loneliest Girl in the Universe! It didn’t make it to my top 10 but it was great!

  2. Do ya hear that? It’s the sound of my TBR exploding. JK, it’s not as if it was only a couple of books initially, anyway. Can’t wait to check out all of these books! Great post!

  3. I actually hadn’t read any of these, but I already have Artemis on my TBR. I’ll have to check the others you listed out. My top 4 is kind of difficult since I read so many amazing books, both YA and Adult, hmmm…
    – Red Sister by Mark Lawrence
    – Now I Rise by Kiersten White
    – The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
    – The Girl Who Was Taken by Charlie Donlea
